Terms

Updated September 30, 2026

These terms cover this website and what happens when you send Ghostcode an idea. Ghostcode is the studio behind this site. You can write to sam@thecolorpalettestudio.com.

Sending an idea does not hire me

Filling out the application, sending an email, or describing an app does not hire Ghostcode. It does not create a contract, a client relationship, a partnership, or a promise that I will build anything.

I only start paid work after we both agree in a separate written agreement, and payment is handled the way that agreement says. Until then, I can decline, pause, or ignore an application. The prices on the site are a description of how projects usually work, not an offer you can accept just by submitting.

You keep your idea

You keep whatever rights you already have in the words, files, and ideas you send. Submitting them does not assign those rights to me, and it does not give me a license to your brand, name, or materials.

Nothing on this site transfers your idea to me, or my work to you. If we later work together, ownership of the finished product is decided in that separate agreement, not here.

I may build something similar

An application is not confidential. Please don’t send trade secrets or anything you need kept private. I do not promise to keep your submission secret, and sending it does not create a duty of confidentiality.

I design and build software for a living. I may already be making, or may later make, something with a similar purpose, feature, or audience — for myself, for another client, or as my own product. That can happen because the idea is common, because I thought of it on my own, or because I learned from doing this work. You agree that this is allowed.

To the fullest extent the law allows, you will not sue Ghostcode, or claim that I copied you, misused your submission, or owe you money, only because I build or launch something similar. A claim that belongs under a separate written agreement we actually sign is a different matter. That agreement, not this page, governs that work.

What you send

You confirm that you have the right to share what you submit, and that it does not include someone else’s confidential information or anything illegal. You are responsible for what you send.

The site

The examples, prices, and descriptions on this site are here to explain the work. They are not a guarantee that a future project will look, perform, or sell the same way. The site is provided as is.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Ghostcode is not liable for lost ideas, lost profits, or other damages that come from using this site or sending an application. If a court still finds liability, it is limited to the amount you actually paid Ghostcode under a signed agreement in the three months before the claim, or one hundred dollars if you have not paid anything.

Changes and the law

I can update these terms by posting a new version on this page. The date above is the version that applies. If you submit an idea after a change, the updated terms apply to that submission.

These terms follow the laws of the place where Ghostcode is based, excluding conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute has to be decided in court, it will be in a court there.
